push/FOLD brings our acclaimed showcase of athletic movement and otherworldly storytelling, Echoes & Earth, to Moscow, Idaho, presented by Festival Dance Academy in partnership with the University of Idaho as part of a week-long residency. An ode to simple beauty in motion, this program features three powerful and heartfelt works described as “an achievement of movement, sound, and mood” (Oregon ArtsWatch), including Ozymandias, performed by University of Idaho students.
Teaching and performing throughout the week, we are excited to engage with the students of Lapwai Elementary and Genesee, and with educators at the Idaho Dance Educators Organization conference.
This November, push/FOLD launches Catalysts—a brand-new platform commissioning choreographers to create original works on the company in a concentrated creative process. Two of push/FOLD's company members join two guest choreographers from our community in crafting premieres that embrace experimentation, risk, and the immediacy of the moment.
Presented in a single-night, candlelit performance, Catalysts offers audiences an intimate evening of dance that celebrates the spark of new creation.
This inaugural event is donation-based for all lovers of movement and creation.
push/FOLD brings our blend of post-contemporary movement and partnering to LA in this one-time four-hour pop-up workshop!
Rooted in visceral biomechanics and fusing athletics with post-contemporary dance and partnering, we'll play with the rules of physics to unleash strength, adaptability, and power in movement.
Open to advanced and professional-level dancers of all genres, participants will dive into athletic phrase work and guided partnering explorations that tap the body’s action potential. By engaging joints, tendons, and fascia as dynamic levers within gravity, dancers will hone proprioception, harness momentum, and refine transitions in choreography.
