LAX | Pop-Up Workshop: Flow, Power & Partnering

Stomping Ground LA | Los Angeles, CA

September 5, 2025

Rooted in visceral biomechanics and fusing athletics with post-contemporary dance and partnering, this one-time four-hour pop-up workshop plays with the rules of physics to unleash strength, adaptability, and power in movement.

Open to advanced and professional-level dancers of all genres, participants will dive into athletic phrase work and guided partnering explorations that tap the body’s action potential. By engaging joints, tendons, and fascia as dynamic levers within gravity, dancers will hone proprioception, harness momentum, and refine transitions in choreography.

Visceral Movement Theory™ (VMT) is the signature movement-partnering language of push/FOLD, developed by Artistic Director Samuel Hobbs.

Please wear clothing that covers the shoulders, hips, upper arms, and legs.

** This event is free for all attendees. **

The workshop is open to all advanced and professional-levels dancers ages 18+.
